Professional Experience & Biography
While going to university, I was in the Air Force for six years - I worked my way from an E1 to E5. While working in personnel, I was working with multiple departments including customer service, retirements, separations, awards/decorations, ID cards, and completing DD-214s for servicemembers coming off active duty.
After my time in the Air Force, I worked as an accountant/bookkeeper working for multiple companies. I was in charge of accounts payable/receivables, reconciliations, month end close, tax returns, and general ledger analyses. I was required to work with vendors and customers to ensure appropriate payment options (and to also maximize cash flows at various organizations).
I have also helped establish two schools via proper accreditation channels. At one school, I worked as the first academic director - with a starting cohort of five students (for their MBA program). At that time, the school was not accredited and relied solely on international students. We used a low-cost tuition model to recruit students from countries including Thailand, Brazil, and India, and South Korea. I was in charge of curriculum, faculty recruitment, accreditation, SLOs, student retention, student satisfaction, faculty reviews, program additions (including a new BBA program), institutional effectiveness, and marketing strategies that could acquire more students. With my guidance the school grew to over 1,000 students and created a new BBA program with an initial cohort of 20 students.
I have taught in Bejing, China and have worked as a consultant in Thailand, so I have really honed my marketing and communication skills in the international level. I have traveled to China, Thailand, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Japan, Mexico, and many European countries.
Finally, in my most recent venture, I have started acquiring properties as investments, which does require me to work with vendors and tenants on a frequent basis. It is vital that my property management services are timely and efficient to ensure customer (tenant) satisfaction. It is my hope that I can continue to expand my role in purchasing more investment properties in the future.
