Student of LIGS University, Nnenna Uboma publishes her first book

When someone succeeds in the #LIGScommunity, it always makes us extremely happy. One such success story is one of our students in the Interactive Doctoral program of Finance, Nnenna Uboma. She has just published her first book. Congratulations!

Author: Nnena UbomaNnenna’s biography:

Nnenna Uboma is a mother of 3 and works in Scotiabank, Canada as Director of analytics. She is an Analytics coach, training and mentoring individuals who want to play in the data space. Nnenna loves to impact knowledge and motivate people to go above and beyond. She also presented her paper during the 2021 LIGS University conference on Digital Data-Driven Economy. Nnenna also volunteers in the community by mentoring high school students on leadership and Entrepreneurship skills. Nnenna engages in speaking, sharing her lived leadership experiences, and lending her voice for a more inclusive workplace. Nnenna is one of the 100 honorees for the Top 100 Black Canadian Women Award recipients for 2022.

About Nnenna’s book Beyond Math:

Beyond Math aims to teach kids the analytical reasoning technique to problem solve. Practicing the exercises in this workbook will help a child develop:

  • analytical and critical thinking creativity
  • resilience strategic and active learning complex problem solving
  • and reasoning skills required to thrive in the ever-changing complex society we live in

Beyond math was curated to enhance these skills early on for kids. Analytical thinking is rated the #1 skill for future jobs. One gap that exists today is that the math taught in schools is based on repetitive formulas carried over the years, eliminating the adaptation to the advancement in digital occurrences more aligned to us today. Beyond Math aims to go above the math formulas and bridge the gap between reasoning and out-of-the-box thinking as the value add required in today’s workplace. Beyond Math uses basic mathematical rules: multiplication, division, addition, and subtraction to build links and roots between numbers.

Beyond Math is co-authored by Nnenna Uboma and her two children, Jasmine and Jamike Uboma.
