Interview with our BBA graduate and MBA student Alphajor Sall, Relationship Officer, Sierra Leone Commercial Bank.

Alphajor has successfully completed his BBA studies with LIGS University. Immediately, he decided to follow up with the MBA program. Alphajor is praised by the Student Services Department for being a highly motivated, precise, active, and responsible. We respect Alphajor's continued faith in us, and we wish for his dreams to come true!

Aloha, could yoAlphajor Sallu please introduce yourself to our readers? Your area of expertise, background, experience, hobby, etc.?

My name is Alphajor Sall, a student at LIGS University pursuing a Master's degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Logistics and Supply chain management. I recently graduated with a Bachelor's degree from LIGS, and I decided to empower myself more in order to get a better standing in the job market. I am currently employed as a Relationship Officer at the Sierra Leone Commercial Bank, where I manage a portfolio of high net worth individuals known as Wealth banking.

I love listening to inspirational videos and audios. I am also a huge fan of basketball - I play on weekends and I also follow the NBA.

Where did you hear about LIGS University and what inspired you to join LIGS University?

I first heard about Ligs University from a colleague I work with because I was in desperate need of an online university to further my educational qualifications after working with a Higher National Diploma for a few years. LIGS University provided me with the opportunity of a flexible and high-quality education system that suited my line of work.

What do you think are the benefits of an online/executive form of education?

One of the most important benefits for me is the flexibility to work at your own pace. In my line of work, there is constant pressure, so having an education system that adds to that would be detrimental in the end. LIGS University provides that ease to work and study at the same time without any hassle or added pressure.

Can you share the value of studying at LIGS University to you?

LIGS University is giving access to a qualification with a high pedigree and quality. I was commended by my boss upon completion of the BBA program with LIGS, and this made me feel so respected. I feel more confident around the office as I seek to pursue a Master's degree that would catapult me to a lot of opportunities.

What do education and personal development mean to you?

I believe that education is the key to success, therefore, personal development is my endeavor. I realized that most of the positions I have occupied have come not because I had the experience, but because of my education. They say that luck is when opportunity meets preparedness, therefore, I hope to keep upgrading myself for better opportunities.

In your opinion, what trends in education do you see in the next 5-10 years from now and why?

I believe that online education will take over in the next few years, especially for working professionals hoping to improve on their learning. This is because people become entangled in their jobs and can't keep up to speed with traditional classroom settings and timetables. They will eventually turn to the online system that will cater to their needs in terms of flexibility.

Based on your experience with LIGS, would you recommend cooperation with LIGS as a student and why?

LIGS University will always be in my thoughts when talking about educational institutions that I would recommend. I have recently recommended my younger sister to also enroll for the MBA course because I do believe in the vision of the school and its drive towards excellence.

What do you consider to be your greatest achievement/s in your career and life?

One of my greatest achievements was, of course, when I graduated with a Bachelor's degree from LIGS University. Holding the certificate in my hand was all the motivation I needed to keep working hard and believing in myself. I hope to complete my MBA next year after which I hope to start my own business in Logistics and Supply chain management.

Do you have any experience with failure/s and how did you learn from it?

One of my biggest failures was when I ventured into a new business of charcoal burning and processing. I got into this business just because I thought it would make me money without actually assessing the dos and don'ts. I lost almost everything after a few months, and since then, I have learned that in order to get into a new business, you need to do enough research and study the market.

What are your life and work goal/s?

My life and work goals include attaining the highest education possible, which in my case would be a Ph.D.. I want to be an inspiration to other people - have a positive impact on other people's lives by creating learning opportunities as well as employment.

What is your motto?

One of my favorite quotes is from Mahatma Gandhi that says, "We must become the change we wish to see in the world", and I also believe that, "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing". I have always kept these two quotes in all my notebooks and they have kept me on track on any engagement I got into.

Thank you very much for the interview
