Interview with our Ph.D. student Gladstone Stanley, Monitoring and Statistic Officer, Ghana Education Service.

StanleyAloha, could you please introduce yourself to our readers? Your area of expertise, background, experience, hobby, etc.?

I am Gladstone Stanley from Anyako Konu Dziehe in the Keta Municipality in the Volta Region of Ghana. I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Finance at LIGS University. My areas of focus are Financial Management, International Business, Project Management, and Risk Management. I hold both an MBA Finance at the Assam Don Bosco University of Guwahati, India, and BSc Development Planning at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi-Ghana. I also hold an Advanced Certificate in Legal Studies from Alison, Ireland. My research expertise is in Rural Banking, Micro Financing, and Venture Capital. I am adept at preparing Business Plans, Strategic Plans, Project Proposals, and more.

Where did you hear about LIGS University and what inspired you to join LIGS University?

I heard about LIGS University for the first time on the internet, and I was inspired to join LIGS University because of the proactiveness of the Customer Care Staff and the cost of education.

What do you think are the benefits of an online/executive form of education?

It is cost and time efficient, and it helps you study at your own convenience.

Can you share the value of studying at LIGS University to you?

LIGS University is essential to modeling my academic and professional career. It helps me be original in thinking and helps me contribute my quota to nation building.

What do education and personal development mean to you?

Education is very essential for personal development. That is why in 1920, UNICEF undertook a study on the importance of education in human life. One respondent from Cameroon said, "Education is a God of human being and a source of the soul's nobleness". An uneducated person is faced with all the negative attributes of life such as poverty, injustice, humiliation, etc.

I took advice from this and prepared myself to access and attend quality, practical, and industry oriented education to attain a level of knowledge where I can be useful to myself, my family, my country, and the international community. In a nutshell, education and personal development move in tandem.

In your opinion, what trends in education do you see in the next 5-10 years from now and why?

I see an educational system that will be dominated by technology where knowledge will be transferred to people in the comfort of their home. An education system oriented in such a way that traditional systems, where students have to converge at a location to study with pressure on the government to expend resources to provide necessary infrastructure, will be discouraged. Using LIGS University as an example, with five to ten years to come, people will embrace international online education because of proximity, low cost, and the fame attached to it.

Based on your experience with LIGS, would you recommend cooperation with LIGS as a student and why?

I will be most grateful if I have the opportunity to further cooperate with LIGS University. The university believes in originality and opportunity for its staff and students, to unearth their potential and contribute to a common goal of achieving sustainable development in our various countries and the world at large. If any institution or individual has the chance of cooperating with LIGS University, they are blessed. They should feel free to commit whatever it takes to make that cooperation come to fruition.

What do you consider to be your greatest achievement/s in your career and life?

My greatest achievement in life is my ability to contribute my quota to the solution of my neighbourhood. Coming from a humble background without hope, working and earning a very meager salary, I was able to pull resources together to finance an MBA in Finance from Assam Don Bosco University, India, and also doing same at LIGS University, Honolulu.

What are your life and work goal/s?

Defending and securing the vision and mission of my organization and employer.

What is your motto?

Never outshine the master.

Thank you very much for the interview
