Interview with our Ph.D. student William Jacob Baidoo, Logistics Officer, Ghana Police Service from Ghana.

William is a friendly and helpful student. He participated in the international doctoral conference organized by LIGS University, in which he presented a full-paper on the topic, "The impacts of cross-cultural differences on projects in Ghana". He is very active in the students' discussion forum, where he posts regularly (sharing information, answering questions, helping, and sharing his opinion). Aloha, could you please introduce yourself to our readers? Your area of expertise, background, experience, hobby, etc.?

I am William Jacob Baidoo from Ghana, a Ph.D. management student of LIGS University, and personnel of the Ghana Police Service. I hold an MBA in HR Management from the Cambridge International College in the UK. I am a Senior Police Officer with the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), and my position is Regional Logistics Officer responsible for receipt of items from Police Headquarters in Accra. Such logistics are supplied to all stations including the Regional Headquarters, Divisional, and District Headquarters, as well as Police stations within the Western region of  Ghana. I have worked for the security organization for almost 32 years at various stations and command positions in Ghana. My interest is in gardening, cleaning, and listening to music.

Where did you hear about LIGS University and what inspired you to join LIGS University?

I got to know LIGS University through browsing at the website of Top Online Business and Management ranking organization. The program structure, moderate cost, duration, flexible payment terms, and education regulations motivated me to join LIGS.

What do you think are the benefits of an online/executive form of education?

The benefits of online/executive education are numerous, but the key among them are flexibility, convenience, self-paced nature, cost-effectiveness, one-on-one interaction with tutors, and the study department.

Can you share the value of studying at LIGS University to you?

The study provides knowledge, practice, research skills, career expertise, and international contacts together with experience.

What do education and personal development mean to you?

Education to me means career training, job opportunities, knowledge acquisition, and qualification for certain activities. Development is about motivation to successful life, reputation, respect, and recognition in society.

In your opinion, what trends in education do you see in the next 5-10 years from now and why?

Between 5-10 years period, the trend of modern education will be toward the online mode of education because of a shift to the digital world. Most people, especially workers, will abandon campus learning in favor of online programs. Global advance means mankind will be doing almost everything, including education, with the computer.

Based on your experience with LIGS, would you recommend cooperation with LIGS as a student and why?

I really recommend cooperation with LIGS due to its efficient services to students including teaching, communication, regulations, and understanding of students' needs.

What do you consider to be your greatest achievement/s in your career and life?

I would like to become a renowned business and management researcher alongside a competent tutor. Additionally, I would like to become famous in my area of expertise and specialization.

What are your life and work goal/s?

My life and work goals comprise of becoming the owner of a reputable business. Working as an online hardworking tutor for LIGS University, which will emerge and become one of the best online universities. Pursue professorship after my doctoral program.

What is your motto?

My work motto is "Service with Integrity".  And my life motto is "Always Move in the Right Direction".
