Vladimir Biruk

Vladimir Biruk is a co-owner and Managing Director of The Institute of Education Development in Management and Communications “CAPITAL” providing advisory and consulting services in anti-crisis and risk management. He also works as part-time an Associated Professor in The Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration that is a national leader in providing public management training for current and future state and municipal civil servants.
Until 2010, he worked for 10 years as a Director in Stolitsa Capital Group, (Non-Governmental, Non-Commercial Association for Crisis management; Capital LTD; Capital-Broker, Entrepreneur). Being a certified consultant in management in the USA Institute of Management Consulting, he was responsible for consulting and handling business strategy development, financial markets trends, regulating crisis management, expertising and arranging consulting in business, financial markets and investment sphere.
He took an active part in business start-ups such as Belarusian Interbank Currency Exchange. Maintaining the position of general director (Initiator and creator of the BICE) gave him outstanding experience of business administration, strong supervisory, and management skills. He has held the position also in the joint venture sewing factory “New Line”, wood processing company “Ilimdrev”, furniture factory “Sinyavskaya Mebelnaya Fabrika”. The main objective was to reach the solvency and business rehabilitation. Here he got experienced in working out the strategies of effective business management for the competitiveness of the company.
Since 1978 till 2000 he worked on various positions. On the position of Senior Economist –Engineer in Economic Research Department of The Belarusian Technological University he was in charge of performing fixed assets and analysing technical project proposals in Energy, Electronics, Petrol and Chemicals. During the 1984-1988 period on the position of Chief Engineer-Mechanic he helped and conducted the adoption of machines like “Caterpillar”, “Komatsu”, “Walmet” to the northern environment operation (under –45C).Technical equipment condition supply, surveyed the imported technical equipment working abilities for Pulp and Timber industry.
He was given a prestigious Doing Business award in Recognition of 5 and 8 years of the World Bank Partnership in 2007 and 2011. In 1985 he got silver medal ”For Science and Education Achievements’ by USSR’s Central Exhibition of National Achievements Moscow.” Since 1994 he had great honour to be granted membership in the Russia-United States Banking Institute. In 1985 he was awarded for invention in the sphere of Nuclear Power. In 1981 he was presented the Diploma ‘For Contribution to Environment Protection’ by the Supreme Soviet of BSSR.
He is an individual with a solid banking and finance educational background. In 2002 he graduated from the Parliamentary and Entrepreneur Institute, got (banking and finance) Diploma of Economist. As a part of his practice he enrolled for an MBA course in The Open University in Milton Keynes, Great Britain in 1999. In 1984 he obtained his degree in department of Resistance of Materials of the Belarusian State Technology University (pedagogical experience for 7 years); dissertation research of cohesion of Nuclear power reactor (the top and the bottom) along with Research Institute of “Hydroproject” Moscow.
He participated also in a wide range of managerial vocational training, monitoring new trends in management and financial consulting. Dr. Vladimir Biruk has met the requirements of the International Council of Management Consulting Institutes (ICMCI) in the field of Management Consulting and IMC as a Certified Management Consultant. He attended great number of seminars all over the world. He is an author of researches, articles, essays, etc.
During his career he provided lectures on the problematic aspects of the Civil Society development and supervised the team work on the subject of innovative governing. During the 2003 - 2009 period he also gave lectures at the Belarusian State Economic University in Business, “Strategy course”. He is invited to give lectures in English in Russia and in the USA. Currently he is providing seminars and lectures for professionals.
As a lecturer he prefers maximum of interactivity from the students, active and personal approach to the study and he drives his students to succeed. First of all Vladimir appreciates when students demonstrate their sincerity and the intention to acquire new knowledge.
His tutoring and lecturing goal is to direct students, to give them opportunities to acquire new knowledge, to hand the experience in a way the students can immediately apply in their practice , to help students find fast and effective solutions.
